A browser add-on is an inclusive term for a category of augmentation modules that are subdivided into plugins, themes, search engines, extensions, snap-ins, dictionaries, language packs, or various other vendor-specific names. An “add-on” is essentially anything that can be installed into a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer, Maxthon, etc.).
